So in our world with the scriptures we have I can certainly see why someone claiming divine right to usurp his older brother would choose to call himself Joseph. Is the same true in the k-e world, or is it just coincidence/meta-commentary?
A bit of both, I guess? The story of Joseph and his brothers is roughly the same in K-E verse, I just haven’t decided yet how often it will come up in-text. So for now Joseph’s name serves more as meta-commentary. But you’re right, he does pick that name for a reason after converting (and after an unforgivable betrayal by his brother.)
I kind of want to make his riding cloak a technicolor dream coat now.
